Lake Apo:A silent water running deep

May 20, 2008

A trip to the City of Harvest,Valencia City is never complete without a stop to the cleanest ang greenest inland body of water in Region 10,the Lake Apo,A charming heart- shape lake rustically nestling amid valleys and mountains.

A more or less 45-minute drive from the city proper takes you to this 24-hectare splendor. The lake which is said to be 85 feet deep is definitely pollution free. The serene water puts one afloat aboard a floating cottage which is tied at the other end of the lake for that breathtaking encounter with the clean fresh water in just a series of pulls.

The Lake Apo has declared to br one of top five undiscoverd tourism spots in the Philippines. With the fact, describing and geographically may not be enough to visualize the lake`a majesty. For one who has come to visit the place, the least he/she can utter is"awesome".

Lake Apo`s"undiscovered"features is indeed a blessing in disguise because of these, people tend to get more interested in discovering whats in store for them in the placid lake on top of the mountain.Silent water, they say runs deep.

Isla Reta: A seventh heaven beneath

May 10, 2008

A trip to the island of Samal is never complete without a stop to the fine white sand beach and a crystal clear blue water, the Isla Reta.It is located at the "back" of Samal Island. It was my first  time to  visit the place, yet, I already heard great things about the isla. Its one of the reasons why  I cant  help my self  not to take a  step  to the  white powdery sand of  Isla Reta. Its less frequented visited by people because it is much further than the other island. We took a boat from Sta. Ana Wharf, behind of Magsaysay Park. There are only 2 regular trips to isla Reta, from 8am – 1pm that would costs P50 only. The ferry took us directly to the resort and paid for another  P50.00 for the entrance fee. The ride was about 30-45 minutes to get to the island..but,trust me!it is well worth the trip.

My friends and I spent  3 days of nights in the isla. It was  the best summertime that I spent  on the beach and I bet …all of my pals would agree. Swimming, snorkeling, and boating. You named it they got it! but don’t forget to include life vests. Theres no need for us to rent for a cottage. We  even dine below trees and brought  our own camping tent with us. Trust me! its more enjoyable than spending  your money for the cottages. To make things tad to be more interesting  perhaps add ice –cold drinks and grilled chicken.
